Crosby Roamann is a collaboration of the husband/wife team Juliana Arvai and Sean W. McBride. In 2010 we left behind our lives on the East Coast, packed all our belongings and our then-two year-old twin daughters into our old Volvo station wagon and drove cross-country with a dream to make exceptional wines from single vineyards in Northern California. We haven’t looked back since.
The name Crosby Roamann is an homage to Sean's maternal grandparents Norma "Peachy" Crosby and Sally Roamann. If our wines are defined by anything, we hope it is our efforts to pay tribute to these strong, entrepreneurial women, to family, hard work and ambition passed on through a family legacy of artists, romantics and independent spirits.
Join us on our adventure, and at the table, to share and enjoy our conscientiously farmed, sourced, and handcrafted wines.
Crosby’s Reserve is the finest selection of Cabernet Sauvignon from our cellars every year, representing just three or four barrels of superlative wine from the vintage. Our vineyard in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains yields less than two tons per acre. The grapes are then sorted and destemmed by hand into new French oak barrels for extended maceration, with twice daily rotation of the barrles by hand. The 2016 Reserve fermented for an average 52 days in wood, and was pressed by hand in our old, small hand-crank press. This barrel selection of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for twenty-four months in all new French oak. On the palate this wine displays notes of dark blue fruits and boysenberry tones, with soft dark cocoa and mild roast coffee bean notes on a bed of sweet tannins.
Seven barrels; 175 cases produced.
