We have each come to Napa Valley from a different place, guided by different ideals, but united by one common goal -- to produce the finest wines possible from Napa Valley.

Sean Walker McBride

Sean believes that wine is a living thing that has transformative power – it is a bridge to the future, to the past, between people to share love, or to reminisce. Sean grew up in New York City with a documentary filmmaker father, and a mother who worked in financial communications. Both understood the power of informative storytelling and shared that with their son, who ended up studying Philosophy and Latin at university. In college, his true education began while working as a stockboy at a wine and cheese store in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After college, he took his first trip to Italy, ending up visiting areas which produced the wines he had explored. It nurtured the seed that would grow into his love for fine wine and food. After college and law school, Sean worked in New York and Calidornia and founded a winery services firm. For Sean, family comes first, but his goal as a winemaker is to make delicious wine that everyone can enjoy. For this avid home gardener and cook, sharing wines and the fruits of all their labor with friends and family is the greatest gift.

Juliana Arvai McBride

Juliana believes in wines of balance. Her own experiences are suitably proof in point, creating a winding path to winemaking that she never saw coming and is eminently thankful for. Juliana grew up in a small town outside Chicago and would spend summers with her Hungarian family as a child in Budapest, where she learned the importance of meals prepared with love and shared with family. She studied Italian and Art History at university, and during a year abroad in Bologna, Italy in college, she fell in love with the world of wine. It was years later, however, when Sean and Juliana took a trip to Northern California that changed the course of their lives. On route from San Francisco for a wedding, they drove up Highway 1 along the coast through Stinson Beach and the Marin Headlands, crossed the Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Mountain and made their way to the Napa Valley. They saw themselves in paradise, and were determined to return. As they began raising their twin daughters in Brooklyn, Juliana joined a tasting group, and they produced their first barrel of Napa Cabernet in 2007. They returned to Northern California and began scouting custom crush locations in Napa for the 2009 vintage. In 2010, they left their jobs, sold their apartment, packed up the family's Volvo station wagon with all their belongings and their twin daughters, and drove "way out West"' to start their lives over again. It was the beginning of the great adventure of Crosby Roamann.

Silvano "Trino" Herrera joined Crosby Roamann during harvest part-time in 2019 and contributed to the winery in both the 2019 and 2020 vintages. Trino joined us full-time in 2021 and has contributed significantly to our operations. Prior to joining Crosby Roamann as Cellar Master, Trino was the Cellar Master at The Wine Foundry and B.R. Cohn. Trino leads the charge in all aspects of winemaking and production and also assists in the vineyard and can often be found riding the tractor, tilling, and maintaining the vineyard in the winter months.
