Oak Knoll District
The Oak Knoll District is a broad, expansive plain just north of the City of Napa, which extends modestly up the foothills of the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountains, dotted here and there by farmhouses and vineyards. This single vineyard wine comes from Jaeger Ranch on Big Ranch Road. The fruit was manually sorted and fermented in stainless steel for twenty-one days, then aged thirty months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, 50% new. The wine is balanced by sweet blackberry flavors and a tart raspberry sweetness that lingers on the finish.
